He was Honorary Colonel 16 (Lincoln) Independent Parachute Regiment (TA) from 1974 to 1979 Deputy Honorary Colonel 15th (Scottish) Parachute Battalion (TA) from 1979 until 1983 and 4th (Volunteer) Parachute Battalion, 1984 to 1985. Paul Edwin Roth (19181985) was a German stage, television and film actor.Roth made his screen debut in the rubble film And the Heavens Above Us (1947). He maintained close links with the Parachute Regiment both through the Territorial Army and Regimental Association. He retired from the Army in 1971 in the rank of Brigadier. A move to Aden as Security Operations Adviser to the High Commissioner was then followed by a final assignment as Commander Rhine Area. ![]() Paul Crook was advanced to CBE at the end of a three-year tour as Commander and Chief of Staff of the Jamaica Defence Force. He went on to command the Army's Airborne Training and Development Centre where amongst other projects he was responsible for a new parachute. To date, this has been t he last occasion when British airborne forces have performed a massed parachute drop in action. The drop zone was on a narrow coastal strip bounded by the Mediterranean to the north and Lake El Manzala to the south immediately to the west of Port Said and there was scant margin for errors. Eighteen Valetta and seven Hastings transport aircraft enabled 668 paratroopers of Paul Crook’s battalion to be crammed in for the attack. He commanded 3 PARA in Aldershot and Cyprus and, on November 5th 1956, led them in the airborne assault on El Gamil airfield, as part of Operation Musketeer. In 1954 he was selected to command a Parachute Battalion and underwent parachute training. ![]() At the outbreak of war he was Adjutant of QORWK’s Depot in Maidstone and saw war service in Africa, Normandy, Burma, Singapore and Netherlands East Indies.Īfter a tour as an Instructor at the Staff College Camberley he rejoined his Regiment and served with it during the Emergency in Malaya and later in Germany. He was commissioned into the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment in 1935 serving in India and later Palestine, during the Arab revolt. Edwin Paul Wilson ( September 10, 2012) was a former CIA and Office of Naval Intelligence officer who was convicted in 1983 of illegally selling weapons to Libya. Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy daughters, Stephanie (David), Diane (Mark) brother, Dan grandchildren, Amelia and Ruby step-grandchildren, Dimitri, Kristina, and Timothy brother-in-law, Gordon many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Paul was a lifelong learner, an active cyclist, golfer, gardener, mathematician, NYT puzzle-solver, and reader. Outside of work, Paul and his wife Nancy spent a great deal of time outdoors whether it was hiking in the CO mountains, enjoying the MN North Shore, or cycling around the Twin Cities. He retired from PHI after 31 years, with a reputation as an exacting scientist and problem-solver, and 12 patents to his name. In 1985 he took a job in Minneapolis with Physical Electronics (PHI), a company that had been recruiting him since the 1970s. ![]() His career took him next to Hach Chemical in Fort Collins, Colorado and Ames, IA. Average Age & Life Expectancy Edwin Paul Monroe lived 7 years longer than the average Monroe family member when they died at the age of 78. Trained as a physical chemist, Paul always explained he was "more of a physicist than a chemist." His first professional job was in research and development at McPherson in suburban Boston. Edwin Paul Monroe of Safety Harbor, Pinellas County, Florida was born on March 28, 1922. Born in 1943 in Minneapolis, he was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Augsburg College (BS) and Harvard University (MS, PhD). ![]() Larson, Paul Edwin died peacefully at home on October 3, 2022, surrounded by his wife and daughters. ![]()
